Since 1996, gaining the approval of Ministry of Science and Technology, Vietnam Conference on Nuclear Science and Technology (VINANST) has been successfully co-organized by Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute (VINATOM) and Vietnam Atomic Energy Society (VAES). As a biennial event, the conference aims to bring together Vietnamese scientists as well as foreign specialists for the exchange of information on the latest research findings and applications in the field of nuclear science and technology, and hence, to foster research and business partnerships among the Institutes, universities and the industry. In addition, VINANST is considered to provide an ideal opportunity for young researchers to approach great sources of specialized knowledge and a range of competencies and skills in their particular disciplines.

The last conference, VINANST-12, was held in 2017 in Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa province with the participation of more than 350 delegates, including prestigious professors and experts from nations which own advanced nuclear science and technology such as the Russian Federation, Japan, the United States of America , Sweden, France, South Korea, Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Belgium, Hungary, India and Singapore. The presence of representatives from reputable organizations like International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Joint Institute for Nuclear Research – Dubna, the European Organization for Nuclear Research – CERN at VINANST-12 further strengthened and ensured the positive influences of the conference. VINANST-12 consisted of 234 select presentations (135 oral presentations and 99 posters) delivered by Vietnamese and foreign researchers in plenary session and six specific sessions.  Moreover, the seminar of IAEA on “Applications of nuclear techniques in Industry, Agriculture and Medicine” and the Exhibition on “Applications of Nuclear Science Research Results in the Sustainable Socio-Economic Development” took place thanks to significant contributions of IAEA, Czech Republic and Vietnam.

Following the success of VINANST-12, the next conference, VINANST-13, is scheduled to take place in Halong Bay, a World Heritage site in Vietnam on August 7 – 9, 2019 in close collaboration between VINATOM and Quang Ninh Department of Science and Technology. As usual, the event is expected to hold major attention for domestic and international experts, scientists, senior managers, researchers, especially representatives from IAEA and its Member States with developed nuclear science and technology. All interest in participation and sponsorship for VINANST-13 are warmly welcomed. Also, we would greatly appreciate if this announcement could be forwarded to those who might be keen on attending VINANST-13.
