The 28th International Nuclear Physics Conference (INPC 2022) will be held in Cape Town, South Africa 11 to 16 September 2022. This is the biggest conference in the world for fundamental nuclear and hadron physics and is held every three years. The INPC 2022 follows the conferences in Glasgow 2019, Adelaide 2016, Florence 2013 and Vancouver 2010. The INPC series is overseen by the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP).

INPC 2022 will coincide with the International Year of Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development (IYBSSD) and the centenaries of the Nobel Prize awarded to Niels Bohr and the establishment of the IUPAP in Brussels.

The conference program spans a wide range of topics and is inspired by the very latest results, developments and innovative ideas across the breadth of Nuclear Physics, from hadrons to nuclei, from fundamental science to applications.

The topics are broadly based on:

  • Hadron structure and spectroscopy
  • QCD Partonic Phenomena
  • Hot and Dense Nuclear Matter
  • Nuclear Structure
  • Nuclear Reactions
  • Nuclear Astrophysics
  • Applications and Societal Impact
  • Neutrinos and Nuclei
  • Fundamental Interactions and Symmetries
  • New Facilities and Instrumentation
  • Quantum computing, machine learning and artificial intelligence in nuclear physics
  • Outreach and Science Education
